Meet Leland, NC DentistDr. Josh Heinsheimer

Dr. Josh is a 4th generation dental professional who graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from Temple Dental School. He gained education in advanced general dental and surgical procedures, completing a general practice residency with St. Luke’s Hospital. He now is a visiting faculty at St. Luke’s Hospital lecturing in subjects including dentures, fillings, crowns, and dental materials.

Dr. Heinsheimer is licensed in nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation for all procedures and ages. However, he finds that often through establishing great and trusting relationships with his patients, he is able to help many patients overcome their dental anxieties.

Dr. Josh Heinsheimer was born in Philadelphia and attended high school at William Penn Charter where he played Baseball and Water Polo. He studied Economics and Green Building at the University of Vermont where he also continued playing club baseball.  Dr. Josh held many other jobs prior to becoming a dentist. He rented cars, worked in a hospital sterilization department, was a fry cook, and a waiter, administered an agriculture energy efficiency program, and pushed carts at Whole Foods.

These experiences led him to have a better understanding of people’s unique desires and perspectives. It allows him to see his patients as people with unique situations instead of just another number in the assembly line. He prides himself on listening to his patient’s wants and needs to tailor custom dental treatment plans to the individual.  Outside of the office, Dr. Josh enjoys hiking, skiing, and cooking with his wife, 2 dogs, and 2 children. If you have a good recipe or secret spot for great food, he wants to hear about it.
